Professional Investment Management

Investing to grow, protect or transfer wealth are the main reasons clients engage us. Decades of developing, implementing and managing investment strategies for individuals and family groups ensures we tailor portfolios for both the short and long term.

We do this through the deep expertise of our Advisers, access to a diverse range of investment types, the rigour of specialist in-house investment professionals and the oversight of expert external advisers.

Specialist investment office

All client portfolios are guided by the analysis and recommendations of our in-house Investment Office, led by our Chief Investment Officer, whose sole role is to manage the investment of client capital.

Our Investment Office builds and manages portfolios to provide investors with confidence that their investments will generate the wealth they need to live the life they wish to lead for the rest of their lives – for themselves, their families and as a legacy for future generations.

Our investment decisions benefit from the oversight of our eight member Investment Committee, five of whom are external advisers to Stanford Brown. Each Committee Member brings invaluable and broad perspective to our investment and portfolio management decision-making.

Personalised portfolio construction

No two clients are the same and nor are the portfolios we manage for them. Our approach always accounts for your individual needs and aspirations. We look at short-term investments to cover known obligations. Our longer-term portfolios consider factors like low interest rates, volatility of returns, your need to build wealth and to generate income.

Wholesale & institutional investment advice

Beyond mainstream asset classes such as equities, fixed income and property, many of our clients value our advice and access to a range of wholesale and institutional investments which aren’t widely available. These may include alternative asset classes such as private equity and venture capital, unlisted infrastructure and private debt.

Responsible Investment Policy

At Stanford Brown, we are committed to responsible investment and integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into our discretionary investment process and investment advisory services. We believe that responsible investing not only has the potential to reduce risk and enhance returns over the long term, but also enables our clients to align their investments with their values.
